Architecture of the Brain

The capacities for resistance that discoveries in neuroplasticity unveil, calls into question the responsibilities for claiming authorship in recovering from an apathetic world exhausted by asymmetric forms of algorithmic governance.

What potentials for creativity lie in neuroplasticity and how do contemporary tools of exo-cephalization afford unprecedented capacities to creatively realign modalities of thought towards practices of care?

The Architecture of the Brain is an exhibition-led inquiry by anexact office examining how pathbreaking discoveries in contemporary neuroscientific research are changing the way we understand spatiality, memory, protention, and neuroplasticity. Through ethnographic narratives developed with scientists, artists, design critics, and scholars, the forthcoming exhibition will advance a public discourse about privacy, technology, democracy, and the role of architecture within the register of cognitive capitalism.
