There is much to learn
 from paying attention
to the many ways by which
people reposition themselves
to make everyday life possible
in the face of compounded vulnerabilities&#38;nbsp;

and

engaging in such challenges
from a posture of
joy, curiousity, generosity,
and collectivity.

What is the future of urbanism?
Cities that survive will be driven by infrastructures that are adaptive, and collectively built and maintained. We still have time to reroute planetary computation for the production of alternate urban futures and enable the evolution of thriving, just, equitable human societies for all.
Here’s how we’ve been revolutionizing community-led climate adaptation in South East Asia:

		<description>Future of governance
in a changing climate︎ MERA
MERA
(noun, Russian мера)

1. Unit of measure for stretching or capacity;

2. Border, limit, boundary, size;

3. Means for achievement of any purposeHow might we define alternative spatial and temporal frameworks of governance
to more consistently link the deep time and shifting dynamics of ecological systems
with the micro-scales of human temporal perception?

Mera is an ongoing design research project, investigating the future of

 governance structures foregrounded in ecological homeostasis.
The project draws from transdisciplinary investigations of watershed management to speculate on littoral structures of governance in moving towards social and climate justice.&#38;nbsp;

As a preliminary case study, the project explores the past, present and potential futures of the Caspian region.

The project was conceived during the team's time as researchers in the New Normal Program at the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture &#38;amp; Design.

		<description>Architecture of the Brain︎ watch trailer on vimeo

The
capacities for resistance that discoveries in neuroplasticity unveil, calls into question the responsibilities for claiming authorship in recovering from an
apathetic world exhausted by asymmetric forms of algorithmic governance.
What
potentials for creativity lie in neuroplasticity and how do contemporary tools
of exo-cephalization afford unprecedented capacities to creatively realign
modalities of thought towards practices of care?

&#38;nbsp;

	The Architecture of the Brain examines how pathbreaking discoveries in contemporary neuroscientific research are changing the way we understand spatiality, memory, protention, and neuroplasticity. Through ethnographic narratives developed with scientists, artists, design critics, and scholars, the forthcoming exhibition will advance a public discourse about privacy, technology, democracy, and the role of architecture within the register of cognitive capitalism.
